FIERI Boston's 11th Annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony was held on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Maverick Landing in East Boston, MA.

The Ceremony

Boston City Councilor Sal La Mattina presented the 2007 FIERI Boston Scholarships to the following high-school seniors:

Catherine Avellani (Matignon HS)
Ross Hardaway (Malden Catholic HS)

Karen Buttiglieri, from the office of State Senate President Therese Murray, presented scholarship recipients Catherine and Ross with commendations from the Massachusetts State Senate.

The keynote address was given by Dr. William Marchione, who is a local historian and Director of the Allston-Brighton Oral History Center. Dr. Marchione's multi-media presentation was entitled Italian Immigration to Boston: 1910-Present.
